The farmhouse is located in a very quite and relaxing hilly area at 150 km from Rome and Florence. 3 km far from the medioeval hamlet of Montegiove (XIII c. castle), 10 km (15/20 minutes) from Montegabbione and Fabro Scalo ( A1 highway Milan-Rome, railway station, supermarkets, banks, post office, restaurants, sport center, gas stations, etc.).
It is strategically located for those willing to comfortably visit the majority of the most important Central Italian art cities and sites, especially of Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio. About 30 km from Città della Pieve, Chiusi, S.Casciano's thermal baths; 40 km from Orvieto, Perugia, Trasimeno Lake (beaches, water sports, ferries to islands); 50 km from Todi, Assisi, Montepulciano, Civita di Bagnoregio, Bolsena Lake; 80 km from Siena and Viterbo; 100 km from Tyrrhenian Sea and from the amazing “Marmore Falls” (the highest in Europe) where it's possible to go rafting.
This area is also particularly recommended for nice and interesting walks, as many naturalistic paths and historical/cultural sites are reacheble from the house. In just a few minutes walk (less than 1km) you can visit "La Scarzuola", a Franciscan monastery founded in 1218, next to which the architect Tommaso Buzzi has built a surreal and fascinating architectural complex "the Ideal City". At 3 kms, close to the small “borgo” Castel di Fiori, there is an important ahrcheological site with antient tombs and the ruin of the primitive fortification, “il Castelliere”, and amazing natural pools and waterfalls. Close to the medioeval hamlet of Parrano (5 kms) there is a spectacular gorge (where is possible to perform torrentism) with natural caves and thermal pool.
Like the majority of the country houses, the last few kilometers to reach the house is a gravel countryroad, about 4 km, accessible for any car.
Since the house is quite isolated and few kilometers far from the nearest villages, it is necessary the use of your own car.
The nearest train station is about 10 kms far, at Fabro Scalo.
The nearest airport is in Perugia, "Sant'Egidio Airport", about 60 kms far.
"Fiumicino Airport" in Rome is at about 150 kms.
Dogs are welcome. We have a golden retriever, she is very kind and friendly, she lives with us, so whenever her presence is not appreciated, we can keep her apart avoiding any contact with the guests.
