Summary: The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, as it was a hot night, there were no fans in the room, and I have to go to the reception to get one, which did not work, and have to change to a second one, which did work. Then I need to go and get the hairdryer, as they are not provided in every room. I guess at this day and age, fans and hairdryers should be in every room. Bed is firm and comfy, so I have had a good night's sleep. Bathroom is newly renovated and a good size. However, the shower does not have anywhere you can put the soap, shampoo, etc, on, and the wall fixture for soap is missing the bottom. They could easily amend this by putting up a small shelf inside the shower. The furniture is wooden and outdated, and could be replaced by more modern ones. The bedside lights are not suitable (they were actually picture lights!) and fixed badly near the bed. They have beautiful huge sash windows, but have blinds and heavy curtains which covered them up. Would be nice to have thin translucent curtains as well to let the light in. TV is fixed high up, and limited channels available. Breakfast is complimentary and continental, so no hot dishes. But for us it is fine as we are happy with bread and ham. The best part is free parking on site, which is rare in Liverpool City. We walked to the Sefton Park (a few mins away) from the Hotel, and got to the Palm House in the Park in 35 mins. Overall a good experience and will stay again, with expectations of an old building.
