For lovers of nature excursions, you can also visit Lake Averno, defined by Dante as "the door to the underworld" and Monte Nuovo, the newest volcano in Europe and a natural oasis. Pozzuoli also houses a picturesque promenade, where you can taste the fish dishes and a good glass of Falanghina or Piedirosso, typical wines of the area. In addition, from Pozzuoli you can reach the islands of Ischia and Procida, which are just a few miles of navigation.
