Positive: Booked a room at very short notice and after getting terribly lost, we greatly appreciated that the night manager waited beyond his shift time to greet us - he was charming and very helpful. The room decor and furnishings are old, but clean and the hotel location is fantastic - right on the esplanade and beach, but enough distance away from the central hub of noise and music from bars and outdoor restaurants - we had a room at the rear of the hotel, so no sea views but were grateful for the quiet setting. The buffet breakfast was decent, and the staff member was very helpful.

Negative: Personal preference only - I'd forgotten how hard the typical Italian bed mattresses are, and in this hotel, the mattress lived up to the norm. Parking is tricky - on a hot Friday night the seafront area was very busy and parking within easy walking distance of the hotel was hard to find. Street signage to the hotel starts out well from the official public carpark, and then disappears so have your phone map at the ready!
