Summary: The location and the hotel itself was excellent, truly a unique experience. However, even it paled next to the service, which was simply the best we have ever received. Friendly, family-like atmosphere, with staff members who seemed genuinely keen to discuss with us. Nobody was in a hurry, but everything worked.

Summary: Matera is breathtaking itself and staying at Corte San Pietro made the experience much more amazing and unforgetable.
Location,confort,stunning breakfast ,everything was flawless.
But the most extraordinary about the hotel is the staff. Signor Fernando and Signora Maria,the owners are so kind and helpful ,Angela was great as well ,showing us the entire hôtel.
It was an unforgetable experience indeed .

Summary: We didn’t get the bottle of wine and we forgot to ask for it. However, the hotel, the room and location was stunning. Specially the people who work at the hotel, they were wonderful!
All of them were kind and friendly.
We even met the owner whom was very kind and attentive to all our needs. I’d come back for next time.

Summary: Hotel Corte San Pietro in Matera was a total gem! It’s right in the heart of the Sassi, so we felt like we were immersed in history, surrounded by the beautiful, ancient charm of the city. The location couldn’t be better for exploring Matera’s unique, winding streets.
The staff was on it from the start, making sure everything was sorted even before we arrived, and they were super attentive during our stay. Breakfast was next-level with delicious local foods and even live piano music—such a nice touch. The owner even came by to check in with us personally, which made us feel so welcome.
The front desk team was amazing and always ready to help with great local tips. We’ll definitely recommend Corte San Pietro and can’t wait to come back!

Summary: I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and visiting Matera in general. The staff spoke great English, were onsite and were very friendly and personable. We were welcomed with a personal sign outside our door as well. It was walkable to everything you needed. The breakfast included was AMAZING (piano player in the background, sit down white table cloth, table service and plenty of food options). You could explore the hotel and all of the cisterns. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. If I could rate this 1000/10 I would.

Summary: Matera… what a place!! It’s a wow on every corner and Corte San Pietro was the same. Our superior room was one of the original cave dwellings, updated for a comfortable stay. The only windows were in the door to the room, which opened straight onto the street, but we didn’t mind that at all. Not having a door on the bathroom (just a curtain) was a surprise… but only added to the uniqueness of the stay.
Breakfast was delicious and served to live piano music in a room above the hotel’s old underground cisterns (which made an interesting post-breakfast visit).
All the staff were superb, really trying their best to meet every guest’s needs. Sadly they missed our (2) requests for a missing bath towel to be replaced but no one can be perfect.
Finally the hotel’s recommended parking was perfect. Easy to find well sized and secured and a l transfer service can be arranged by the hotel. Just remember that this is all additional cost though.. €20 per night for the parking and €30 return for the transfer.
Overall we highly recommend a visit to Matera and staying in Corte San Pietro.
